To mark the release of the new album 'Plug & Play' we are running a competition in association with online digital retailer Beatsource. Remix the NMS tune 'Hole in the Bag' and you could win our entire 7-album CD catalogue, as well as see your work released on One Note Records. The download package is available here. Album Launch gig with Dionne Charles

Vocalist Dionne Charles joined us at Cargo in London for the 'Plug & Play' album launch on Friday. You can listen to her incredible voice on the new single King Comforter, released Monday 16th June (vinyl 7"/itunes) and also the featured track on the NMS juke box this month.

The Blue Nile

The Blue Nile super-jam which took place before the NMS late-night show Saturday night: The Stanton Moore Trio expanded to include Eddie and Pete, Robert Walter, Will Bernard, Big Sam, Topaz, Cheme, Jonathan Batiste, Trombone Shorty, and probably more... Jolly good fun, this Jazzfest business.

UK Release Date Announced

The new album - Plug & Play - will be released in UK on Monday June 30th on CD/LP and on itunes a week earlier. It features vocalist Dionne Charles (whose own band Baby Charles released their debut album earlier this year) on 4 of the 11 tracks, plus there are appearances from master percussionist Sam Bell (This is What We Do; Live at La Cova.) Early DJ responses have been extremely positive ("Their best yet," etc...) but you'll have to judge for yourselves when it comes out. We will be posting sneaky previews on the jukebox in the run-up to the release, so check back often!

Karl Denson & NMS in NOLA

Karl Denson will be performing with The New Mastersounds at the Blue Nile late-night show in New Orleans on Tuesday April 29th. Karl is known for his sax and flute work with Lenny Kravitz, The Greyboy Allstars and his own band, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and was a guest performer on the US-version of the 2005 NMS album This is What We Do. If reciprocal sit-ins between Karl and Eddie in the past are anything to go by, this promises to be a very special show, so book early!

Knockout East Coast Tour!

We're just home, still buzzing from an amazing 2 week tour - 2 great slots at Langerado Music Festival, followed by a road trip from Atlanta to NYC. As word spread up the coast the shows got even busier, with Philly and New York selling out. We encountered such incredible enthusiasm and dedication from music-lovers along the way and want to say a hearty thank you to all of you who showed your support and made the trip such a success. We'll see quite a few of you next month in NOLA, and we hope to come back to the East Coast again later in the year. Big love from Si, Pete, Joe and Eddie.

Phase Two of New Album Complete!

We invited vocalist Dionne Charles up to Leeds at the end of January to write and record tunes for the new album. Eddie starts mixing next week. The release should be early May - check the site regularly for updates and exclusive audio previews.
